Review of Jin Ding Xuan

It's really not the best in Beijing. Jin Ding Xuan's Ditan branch is fine for its old-style atmosphere, big variety and low prices. But I've always thought of Jin Ding Xuan as a really "Beijing" dining experience. And if it's really a dim sum restaurant, it should feel nothing like Beijing.

The dim sum here is cheap and presentation is ok, but the fillings can be a bit disappointing, the wrappings a bit shriveled and overall the food just isn't amazing.

Fine for a fun, noisy weekend lunch, but for a real dim sum experience that offers a good balance of quality and affordability, try Tang Yuan on Chaoyangmenwai Dajie.
