Review of The Brick
5

Off the beaten path down a dead end road filled with real estate offices, hair salons, and fruit stands. The Brick is a breathe of fresh air for this still up and coming area facing VIVA. Its literally the only proper bar between Jinsong and Guomao. And its just not the lack of competition or the fact that it has some of the cheapest drinks in the city that makes it so appealing. The American owner/bartender/chef and his awesome wife run the bar and make you feel like a friend and a regular. The bar has a long list of unusually named cocktails and a nice list of domestic and import beers with a price that is fitting. You never have to worry about going blind from a fake shot of tequilla cause everything in stock is legit! After renovating the bar recently it went from the only dive bar around to having one of the best atmospheres and decors in the city. Put this place smack in the middle of Sanlitun and it would be packed all the time and raved about.
So gather your mates or bring a date. With bar owners scrambling around trying to think of a new gimick or bar theme this place is just naturally good. The simple yet creative decor, the rad owners, and the characters that walk in and out of this place make it one of the best bars in the city.
