Review of Mandarin Zone
5

I lived in Beijing for 3 years for work and all that time I was studying Chinese at Mandarin Zone. I had a very positive and enjoyable experience learning Chinese there, I started with a very basic level but after that time I got around a HSK 4 level. Now I am able to read and write Chinese and to hold conversations in Chinese. I used to go 2 days a week after work, a total of 4 hours per week.

Margherita Liu, the director and owner of the school, and her staff are professional and experienced teachers and also warm and friendly people that made me enjoy going to the school and learning in class. In the class we follow the contents of a text book, but most of the class is conversational, which improves a lot the listening skills and speaking fluently of the students. The groups are small (2 to 5 students) and we study Chinese language but we also learn about Chinese culture thanks to the frequent Chinese conversations we hold in every class.

The school is a small and cozy organization, each afternoon may have just 2 or 3 classes taking place. The prices for the classes are good, cheaper than a personal teacher, and the school is located in Sanlitun, on top of Tuanjiehu subway station. Margherita’s management of the school is flexible, warm and professional, made me feel very comfortable during these 3 years in her school. I would definitely recommend Mandarinzone to everyone that is interested in learning Chinese in Beijing.
