quiet and relaxing environment, and non-chatty masseurs are why I keep going back here.

I normally get the full-body Chinese massage, which I like and recommend. However, this time I decided to try the Shiatsu and only on the back.

I really disliked the neck and upper-back part of the massage, where the masseur went in and picked at every little nook and cranny between the muscles and tendons, which was a very different experience from usual. I'm not sure this difference was due to the difference in massage styles or because of the extra time he had on his hands. Anyway, personally not a fan of this technique. In the future, will ask for broader coverage and more pressure rather than flicks, picks and digs.

I did like the lower back bit of this session a lot. What really impressed me was that even though I had booked a back-only massage, he somehow figured out that my lower back tension must have been due to sciatica because he went and found some pressure points on my butt, outside of my hips, and down the outside of my legs.

I'll keep going back for back-only massages, but in Chinese style.
