Had an excellent dinner here last night. Certain dishes were outstanding including the green salad with tofu skin and the mixed greens with sausage. The sushi was top notch. Not so impressed with the smoked clam soup or the braised octupus - good but not outstanding. I'd give it five stars but I guess there were two things I'd prefer. I'd prefer to have a more run of the mill sushi platter option - tuna, yellow tail, salmon. I know that in Japan the best restaurants will not tell you what comes with the platter and that's there policy here, but I still don't agree with it. If I'm paying for it, I don't want it to be a surprise - the chef/owner was standing about ten feet from us - I thought we could at least be told what the platter would include but they wouldn't do that. The other small complaint was the room - a bit austere. But otherwsie it was the best sushi meal I've had in Beijing and it held up well to the best sushi restaurants in NY including Blue Ribbon which I used to go to all the time. Not cheap, but good sushi will cost you.
