The Beijinger really let me down on this one! After reading a review about how awesome it was a couple weeks ago I was excited to try Eatalia. In particular the "home made bread" they had really sold me on it. Today I show up and the service is great (why they get 2 stars instead of 1). I order the before mentioned bread and a 4 cheese gnocchi said to have gorgonzola which is one on my favs.
The food shows up...first the bread, I thought they brought me the wrong thing, it is just a empty pizza crust with some canned tomato sause lightly covering where the pizza topping should have been. I ask if this is the bread? "yep thats it" the taste is super bland, really nothing to it.
then the gnocchi comes and I am bummed again for 75rmb you get a tiny bowl. about 10 bites!!(not an exaggeration) .After i start to eat i am even more bummed! It was way over cooked, to oblivion! The sause? Like they made a roux then added some cheap cheese. No Gorgonzola to be tasted.
I was hungry so I ate it...I guess thats one good thing about the tiny servings..I didnt have to eat much of it!
If this place really is run by Italians, they should be embarrassed. So should the beijinger for running such a bogus review!
