Pizza My Mind: Cheers' Marketing Master Loves Bottega, Gung Ho, and Pizza Plus

With voting in the first round of the 2015 Pizza Cup now underway (cast your ballot here), we continue to query Beijingers from all walks of life on their pizza preferences with our Pizza My Mind series. Today we hear from Berliner David Schaumann, 33, who lives in Sihui and is the man behind the marketing of Cheers Wine and who dines out on pizza three to six times every month:

For a date with the significant other:
The right atmosphere for the perfect date refers to many things. Ambience and service are only a few of them. The type taste of the pizza you get on your plate are the main assets to impress indeed.

No place masters all this together better than the wonderful team at Bottega in Sanlitun. Going to Bottega, I try to catch the lunch special from noon to 3pm. Never has the choice been so difficult. The lunch set comes with a starter of soup or salad, a main course with pizza, pasta or a sandwich! I am clearly in love with the Panuozzo Caprese Pizza Sandwich! Besides the prompt and always nice service, they have a massive wood fire oven, bringing Italian warmth and authentic atmosphere in this cozy restaurant.

When you feel like something different:
Nothing would satisfy my feeling for something different more than to start the evening on the terrace of one of our Cheers stores, sipping a glass of wine with nice company. I love pizza indeed, so I chose my favorite delivery service for the crusty counterpart to my wine. Gung Ho is without any doubt my go-to choice for that. The delivery is fast, and the pizza is more than delicious! Their newest interpretation of the New Zealand Lamb Pizza is my ultra-choice! And what would wash this delicious piece of heaven down better than a glass of New Zealand Two Peaks Sauvignon Blanc? These are the best ingredients for a very special evening!

For Home delivery when you’re too lazy to make dinner:
I am lazy. I don’t always like to hang out downtown, and since I get my wine delivered from Cheers within 30 minutes, my pizza must also come quickly. Pizza Plus is unbeatable in this regard, especially for me as foreigner. I have never had troubles explaining my address as I simply use their very useful app to order. Once registered, the pizza of my choice finds me immediately! They recently have the two slices for the price of one, which is very helpful for a tight budget at the end of the month.
