Survival of the Tastiest: You Have One Day Left Before the Burger Field is Cut to 16

Friends and fellow burger-lovers, our burgeoning foodie democracy is in peril. Your favorite burger needs your vote before the relentless tide of balloting mercilessly cuts the field from 32 contestants to the Sweet 16.

UPDATE: Slow Boat Brewery Wins 2016 Burger Cup for Back-To-Back Titles

I humbly ask you – our informed and responsible readership – to take a stand against Burger Tyranny and send a message to the masses of Beijing who think a Big Mac is the pinnacle of burger glory.

A vote for your favorite burger establishment (our readers recently sliced the starting field of 64 to 32) will send a message to the fast food masses that a burger is not a commodity – it's a work of art to be lovingly assembled and enjoyed.

But hurry, as voting for the Round of 32 ends Wednesday, June 8, at noon.

Already thousands of Beijing Burger lovers have cast an opinion, and if you think your vote doesn't count, you got another thing coming; as of 3pm Tuesday, several races remain quite literally deadlocked, with only a handful of votes separating moving on from being relegated to the trash bin of history.

Shockingly (and I know, as I peeked into the backend) five of our top dozen burgers from last year are currently trailing in their matchups; meanwhile a sixth is deadlocked with each receiving an identical number of votes.

If voting patterns hold folks, we could be looking at a vastly changed Best Burger landscape for 2016.

The most effective means of sending your favorite burger spot some love is by casting your burger ballot, which can be done by clicking here.

Remember you need to come back each round to send your favorite into the finals; here's how the rest of the voting schedule looks:

Sweet Sixteen: Opens 4pm Wednesday, June 8; closes noon Sunday, June 12.
Elite Eight: Opens 4pm Sunday, June 12; closes noon Wednesday, June 15.
Final Four: Opens 4pm Wednesday, June 15; closes noon Friday, June 17.
Championship Round: Opens 4pm Friday June 17; closes noon Monday, June 20.

Remember: Every Vote Counts!
