4corners to Host Club Paradise-Soundtracked 6th Anniversary Party, Jan 27

Fresh off being inducted into the Beijinger’s Dining Hall of Fame, 4corners owner and chef Jun Trinh still has plenty to celebrate. Specifically, his Drum Tower adjacent Vietnamese-fusion restaurant is turning six years old, and he’s marking the occasion by throwing a big birthday bash this Saturday, Jan 27 with a soundtrack provided by tropical disco, global funk, and house DJ outfit Club Paradise.

Trinh (who grew up in Toronto and is of Vietnamese descent) founded 4corners in Dashibei hutong in 2012, after already making a name for himself by creating the Vietnamese menu at then forefront restaurant Luga’s. A year before opening that alleyway eatery Trinh hosted a popular cooking and travel show called Who Will Lend Me a Kitchen?

4corners has gone on to become a hotspot for brunch, thanks to Trinh’s creative dishes and a frequently jam-packed party destination thanks to regular performances by the likes of Tavey Lean and The Solid Gold Dream Machine, DJ sets, quiz and storytelling nights, and more. This Saturday’s celebration is made all the more poignant by the ongoing citywide redevelopment that has consumed so many hutong venues over the past year. That recent turmoil has not only made 4corners a seasoned survivor but also an F&B oasis of sorts in a neighborhood of barren bricked up businesses. So come out on Saturday and celebrate the success and tenacity of one of Beijing’s most unique venues or, if nothing else, stop by and shake your hips to Club Paradise’s flamboyant tune spinning.

4corners will host its sixth-anniversary party on Jan 27 from 10pm onward. For more information, click here.
