IKEA Online Purchases Now Available in Beijing

The best thing about IKEA is the abundance of on-trend and affordable home decor options packed within its huge warehouse-like space, but a trip to a local IKEA store can be off-putting because of either the distance or the hordes of customers vying for the cheap and practical goods within (as well as the beds).

But now, with just a few clicks from the comfort of your own home, you can have your new furniture and homeware delivered to your door. That's because ikea.cn has just launched their shop online and home delivery service to 149 cities in China. Shipping fees start at RMB 9.9 but are likely to increase after Dec 31 (for more detailed information about delivery fees please refer to their delivery service page).

Thanks to the three IKEA stores in Beijing (Siyuanqiao, Xihongmen, and the latest in Wukesong) most areas in the city are covered by the service. You can check whether delivery is available in your area by filling in your address and zip code at the shopping cart page once you’ve added some products.

Below is a quick guide as to how to make IKEA purchases online:

  • Scour the online purchase page (in Chinese and English), sign up with a valid cell phone number and email address to log in, or register your account before making online purchases.
  • Browse the products available for online shopping, choosing your desired delivery date.
  • Enter your delivery address and check the estimated fee. You can opt for parcel or truck delivery services.
  • Continue to the payment page via Alipay, WeChat Pay, or UnionPay.
  • Check and track your order status. You’re also able to apply for an online invoice.

Happy shopping!
