Sections of Badaling Great Wall Officially Reopen

Hikers, tourists, and anyone generally excited by the prospect of there now being stuff to do in Beijing, will be happy to hear that portions of the Badaling Great Wall have reopened after a long winter slumber. The two portions now open to the public include the sixth gate tower in the North and the fifth and a half gate tower in the South, which will welcome guests from 9am to 4pm daily. The Waterside Great Wall, the ancient Great Wall, and the Museum of Great Wall at Badaling will remain closed until further notice.

Given that the park will cap attendance at 30 percent, reservations are needed one day in advance. Visitors are required to bring an ID card (passports for foreigners), scan a QR code that will prove they've remained in Beijing for the last two weeks, and submit to temperature screenings. Once visitors enter the Great Wall area, they must wear masks during the entirety of their trip and keep a one-meter distance from one another.
