Some Some Cocktail & Kitchen

The freshest lounge in Sanlitun is Some Some, an indoor and outdoor cocktail bar and restaurant on the third floor of Taikoo Li North. The space offers an architecturally intriguing first impression with it’s arching pillars and molecular lighting. The menu, meanwhile, is largely small-plate versions of classic Chinese dishes, such as the coconut pork belly (RMB 128), and (practically necessary as a starter) the Lamb Spring Rolls with curry sauce (RMB 88). Be sure to add on the durian yogurt (RMB 58) for good digestion.

The cocktail menu (RMB 80-100) is a creative lot, filled almost wholly with a dozen originals like the Rice Milk with grappa, rice fermented sweet potato, honey, and aquafaba, as well as the VNegroni, which is unrecognizable from a classic negroni with mezcal, butte, white vermouth, suze, and fish sauce.

Solitude

If you’re looking for a quieter place to drink and dine, look no further than Solitude just off of Sanyuanqiao. Winos will love their massive selection that lines the wall in place of decoration. A popular option is to come just for a bottle and cheese plate, which altogether will set your group back about RMB 600-800. But the menu offers some tantalizing seafood dining as well, including Moutai crab, vanilla shrimp.

ORio Eatery

Let’s take a step back from dinner and focus on the most important meal of the day. ORio is the latest bakery in the capital to figure out what real bread is all about, providing a good breakfast option for Sanyuanqiao dwellers. Stop by for a loaf of cranberry ciabatta, a round of purple yam bacon bread, or a helping of their grainy “fitness bread.”
