Say Hello to Six of Beijing's Newest Pizza Joints

It’s been over a year since our last Pizza Cup was held, and over that time six new pizza places have popped up in the capital.

While some of these places opened in the middle or later last year, they’re still new enough to be first timers on our Cheesy Pizza Cup list.

Joe's Pizza

These purveyors of New York style pizza-by-the-slice have been a mainstay in Shanghai for a number of years now, and they arrived in Beijing with a bang last September. Joe’s keeps it simple with a few toppings to choose from, whole pies are available as well. They also have great snack options, like their buffalo chicken bites and wings, as well as their own line of beers and even a wine.

Canotto by The Pizza Show

The newest project from the team behind Parkview Green favorite (and #14 on our Top 16 list last year) The Pizza Show, Canotto focuses more on pastas and natural wines. That being said, the sourdough pies they’ve become known for can still be found here, with classics being carried over from The Pizza Show menu and a few new options added too.

Il Fuoco

Il Fuoco is a pasta, pizza, and wine bar that opened up quietly near Ritan Park in the tail end of 2022. They’ve since gained attention for their good service, great Neapolitan pizza accompanied by a good wine selection.

SIGMORE

Nothing more than a hole in the wall stand in Sanlitun SOHO when it first opened in summer of last year SIGMORE has since moved to the Lakes District. But it’s more than just a location change. Having started out doing Pizza il Taglio, Roman style rectangular pizza-by-the-slice, they now serve thin crust round pizzas. They also have decent coffee available, so you can get your caffeine and greasy pizza fix with a nice seat and views of Shichahai below.

FELICHITA

FELICHITA brings Italian style square pizza and lots of other goodies – including chartreuterie boards, wine, cocktails and more – to up near the northwest section of the fourth ring in Haidian. A nice option for if you’ve spent the day at the Summer Palace and want a bit of comfort food.

Fufu

One of the newer cafés to have opened up in the same neighborhood as Side Street’s Jianguomen location, Fufu has focaccia pizza with interesting flavor options, including salami with Yunnan chilies and rocket and burrata with ham, mozzarella and black truffle.
