Tonight: Don't Miss Jazz Legend Wynton Marsalis in Beijing
The Beijing Music Festival (BMF) is in full swing right now, with a few international names joining this year's lineup. One that's got our attention is American jazz legend Wynton Marsalis, who is playing one final show tonight (Oct 10) in the heart of the capital.
This name should be familiar to those who know jazz or American music. The New Orleans-born trumpeter has been making countless albums since his debut in the 1980s. Today, in addition to traveling the world to showcase jazz to anyone and everyone, he heads the jazz department at Lincoln Center and jazz studies at the prestigious Juilliard School.

Playing a two part show in Beijing, tonight will be the final night to catch Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at the National Center of Performing Arts (NCPA) as they perform the Shanghai Suite.
Inspired by Marsalis' time in Shanghai and experiences with Chinese customs and folklore, the suite kicks off with "Swinging on the Bund" before moving onto "the Monkey King's March", "Li Bai's Blues", and even a movement dedicated solely to hot pot.
This is one concert not to miss for fans of Marsalis' work and jazz in general, and it sounds to us like a great way to get swinging the night away in Beijing!

We Got Rhythm: Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Concert kicks off tonight (Thursday, Oct 10) at 7.30pm at the National Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are RMB 380-880 per person and can be purchased via the link here.
