2025 Juicy Burger Cup Moves on to Expert Panel

After two rounds of public voting, the second round of the 2025 Juicy Burger Cup has finished, being grilled down to the Sweet 16 – the final stage of the competition. From here on out, the fate of the 2025 Juicy Burger Cup lies in the hands (and mouths) of a panel of expert burger judges.

These hand-selected judges will have 48 hours to meticulously rank the remaining 16 burger joints from #1 to #16. Their individual rankings will be tallied to determine the ultimate 2025 Juicy Burger Cup Champion. Judges unfamiliar with certain contenders are permitted to leave them unranked.

So, who are these judges? Chosen from a large pool of Beijing-based burger lovers, each was vetted for deep knowledge of the local burger scene through a specially created burger expert survey. From there, we selected a diverse and representative panel that reflects the full spectrum of our Beijing readership – Chinese and international alike.

To keep the judging process clean and free of bias, we took several precautions. Panelists were not officially informed of their selection until the very last moment, ensuring no chance for lobbying or influence from burger-makers.

In the spirit of fairness and surprise, both the identities of our judges and the Sweet 16 rankings will remain under wraps until we officially crown the 2025 Juicy Burger Cup Champion this Friday (Jun 6).
