Get Boozy With These Tap Takeovers and a Wine Tasting This Weekend
If you're looking for an excuse to sip something special this weekend, you're in luck. From wild fermentation beers and rare European-style lagers to elegant Chinese reds and crisp whites, there's plenty happening to keep your glass full. Whether you're in the mood for a brewery takeover, an all-you-can-drink deal, or a guided wine tasting, here are four boozy events worth adding to your calendar. Cheers!
Quadraft Brewing Tap Takeover at The Factory
This Saturday (Aug 2) from 2pm till late, Quadraft Brewing will be doing a tap takeover and new beer release at The Factory. Quadraft Brewing is a wild fermentation brewery from Zibo, Shandong, known for unique brews inspired by nature and stargazing. On tap, they'll have five distinctive beers: Grey Heron Japanese Rice Lager, The Bear Sour Braggot Mead, Kiwi! New Zealand-Style Catharina Sour, Mongolostegus DDH Hazy IPA and Mamenchisaurus TDH Triple Hazy IPA. A special limited edition Wild Yeast Saison (only five bottles on the day) will also be available – with a free 200ml pour for the first 20 attendees.

EAST GATE Tap Takeover at Circle Urban Haidian Branch
From Aug 1 to 2, from 5pm-midnight each day, Tianjin-based craft brewery EAST GATE (青門) will be taking over the taps at Circle Urban's Haidian branch. Known for blending Western brewing techniques with Eastern ingredients and aesthetics, EAST GATE is a pioneering “academic” craft brewery from Tianjin that was founded in 2015 by three like-minded Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) judges.

Halfway Crooks Tap Takeover at El Nido Beiluo Branch
American craft brewery Halfway Crooks will be doing a tap takeover at El Nido's Beiluo branch starting today and running daily from 2pm to 2am until sold out. Founded in 2019 in Georgia, Halfway Crooks stands out in the American craft scene for not focusing on trendy IPAs. Instead, they specialize in clean, classic European styles like German and Belgian lagers and pilsners. Last year, they won 24 Untappd medals, and they have several beers in the world's Top 50. At the tap takeover, they'll be serving up four of their famous brews: Reset, a Helles lager; Active Low, a German pilsner; Super Super Turbo Turbo, a Japanese rice lager; and Var, a Bohemian pilsner. Petit Mont Winemaker Tasting at Tangled
This Saturday (Aug 2), Tangled will host a special wine tasting with wines from Petit Mont, and winemaker Yu Qina from Petit Mont will guide guests through the tasting. Wines on offer will include whites, rosés and reds from Ningxia and Shangri-La, such as Shangri-La Chardonnay, Ningxia M4 Red Blend and Ningxia Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé.
