Play – Quiz Night at Plan B on Wednesdays
If you happen to find yourself in the Shuangjing neighborhood on a Wednesday night with nothing to do, then the place to go if you’re up for trivia is Plan B. There's free popcorn chicken or wings for every team as well as the chance for the winners and one other team to take home free food and drink vouchers. Things kick off at 7.30pm, but it’s best to book in advance.

Listen – Me and My Sandcastle + Simplicity Lover at DDC
Things are getting a little lo-fi pop and psychedelic at DDC this Saturday with a showcase of Me and My Sandcastle and Simplicity Lover (简约情人), part of the venue's ongoing Everything Must Flow series. The former was establishd in Shanghai and will be bringing their combination of bedroom pop and lo-fi indie pop noise, while the female-fronted latter will be going all out psychedelic. This show is not one to miss if you’re looking for a chill Saturday night.

Visit – Zhengyangmen Archery Tower
After months of renovations, the Zhengyangmen Archery Tower has been refurbished and is now open to visitors. Guests can climb to the top of the tower for commanding views of Qianmen Pedestrian Street below and learn about the history of the tower – and its connection with the larger Central Axis – in the interactive museum on-site. There’s even a new gift shop selling souvenirs like Central Axis-themed magnets and Beijing swallow stuffed animals.
Zhengyangmen Archery Tower is open Tuesday through Sunday, 9am-5pm (last entry at 4.30pm). You can book a visit via the Beijing Central Axis Heritage Protection Center official WeChat (Follow 北京中轴线遗产保护中心, then click on “Services” and “预约参观”) with a passport and Chinese phone number.
