Beijing Cocktail Week, Tap Takeover, Empty Bottle Party & More Upcoming Boozy Events
The sun is out and if you're looking to do some summer sipping, there are numerous boozy events happening in Beijing this weekend and beyond. From Beijing Cocktail Week to tap takeovers, a wine party, seasonal drink launches and more, here are some boozy happenings to watch out for in the capital.
Beijing Cocktail Week
Beijing Cocktail Week (BJCW) will be landing in the capital from May 22-28, bringing a citywide celebration of cocktail culture with more than 30 events and over 20 bars and restaurants participating. Rather than a traditional drinks festival, BJCW promises a week of guest shifts, pairing dinners, pop-ups and late-night collaborations designed for cocktail lovers and industry insiders alike.
BJCW will feature guest appearances from 25 internationally acclaimed bars at venues across Beijing. Then at WF Central, there will be a series of pop-ups at various venues by bars from across China. There will also be four cocktail pairing dinners: Lamdre X Bar Long Fong, Old Tower X Hope & Sesame, Marzaka X Aji and Chef 1996 X Three X Co. Finally, there will be the "I'm From China" late-night series at TWM Bistro, where bartenders from around the country will create hometown-inspired cocktails paired with regional late-night dishes.

High Five Tap Takeover Vol. 11 with Tulipifera at Slowboat
This Friday (May 15), Slowboat will be launching another of their High Five Tap Takeovers with guest brewery Tulipifera from Suzhou at Slowboat's Shichahai location. Tulipifera will be bringing five different guest beers for the takeover: Melon Gelato Beer, Early Sakura Blush Gelato Beer, Spring Snow Peach Cider, Jade Loquat Sour Ale and Citrus Fruit Punch Cider. You can see more details about each of the beers in the poster below. Along with the special guest beers, there will also be an all-day long happy hour and some exclusive merch available.
The Tulipifera High Five Tap Takeover Vol. 11 will be kicking off at Slowboat Shichahai on Fri, May 15. Entry for the event is free.

Empty Bottle Party and Bubble Night at O'Steak
O'Steak has two boozy upcoming events this month, first up, they will be throwing another Empty Bottle Party this Friday (May 15) from 6pm to 10pm. It's a wine clearance event where, for only RMB 158 per person, you can get unlimited selected wine! They will have 25 different wines available and you can enjoy them until the last drop. Then, on Wednesday, May 27, from 7pm until 9pm, they will be putting on a Bubble Night where you can get two hours free flow of four sparkling wines for RMB 128 per person.
The Empty Bottle Party will be taking place at O'Steak on Fri, May 15, from 6pm until 10pm. The deal costs RMB 158 and you can reserve a spot now by scanning the QR code in the poster above.

Utopian Brewing Tap Takeover at The Factory
Another spot throwing a Tap Takeover this weekend (May 15-16) is The Factory. They will be welcoming Utopian Brewing, a UK brewery from Devon that focuses on lagers made with 100% British hops and malt. They will have seven different brews on offer: Regenerator, Rainbock, Bohemian, Classic IPA, Premium Lager, Unfiltered Lager and Wondrous Isles, you can read more specifics about the beers here.
For the event, on Friday they will have discounts on their British food menu, and on Saturday from noon until 6pm, all imported special beers will be on happy hour, where you can get them for 20-25% off. Along with the guest beers, there will also be some exclusive Utopian Brewing merch up for grabs.

Seasonal Drinks Launch Party at Zarah
This Saturday (May 16), Zarah will be putting on a Seasonal Drinks Launch Party from 7pm until late. New drinks on the menu include everything from cocktails to iced coffees, fruity teas and alcohol-free summer drinks. They'll have a mixture of new and returning seasonal favorites on offer, such as Fire Extinguisher, which blends tamarind, rum, vodka and preserved plum syrup, a Paloma, the Maple Sidecar, the Pink Rose and old Zarah favorites like the Osmanthus Sour and Pineapple Coconut Mojito.
Along with the new seasonal drinks, they'll also have live DJ sets to keep the atmosphere pumping. All seasonal cocktails will be available for the happy hour price of RMB 55/cocktail all night long.

Whisky+ Beijing Returns to Langyuan Station
In case you missed our Week Ahead post last Sunday, Whisky+ Beijing will be returning to the capital for its eighth instalment this weekend from May 15-17. Once again taking place at Langyuan Station, it will bring together over 350 whisky and premium spirit brands from around the globe. They'll also have numerous activities, classes and more taking place over the three-day event. You can read more details here.
