CandleX is proud to present this sleep-improvement online program, facilitated by our founder and psychotherapist, Xiaojie Qin, delivering professional guidance from Beijing.

This intimate, small-group online program is a gentle, supportive hypnotic-focused journey dedicated to easing insomnia—rooted in experiential self-awareness and mind-body alignment. Limited to a curated group of just 6–8 participants for personalized attention and safe, like-minded peer connection, we gather for 2-hour online each week across 6 weeks, crafting a steady, soothing holding space to rebuild a peaceful, restful relationship with sleeplessness.

Special Important Note: This is NOT a clinical therapy group. If you are seeking formal one-on-one therapy. please book individual private sessions. The facilitator’s role within this cohort remains non-clinical.

Centered on a professional hypnotherapy framework, this program integrates somatic awareness, reflective inner exploration, guided hypnotic relaxation techniques and soft group sharing. We move beyond temporary quick fixes for sleepless nights, helping you unpack your unique personal patterns of insomnia, build lasting inner calm resilience, and cultivate sustainable mind-body balance for natural sleep. There is no intense emotional excavation—only mild, approachable daily practices crafted to quiet racing thoughts, release nervous tension, and empower consistent sleep-focused self-care.

Over the 6 weeks, you will be guided through a journey filled with core foundational hypnotic relaxation methods, paired with tools drawn from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). You will track bodily sensations linked to restless nights, unpack the subtle mental and emotional triggers fueling your insomnia, optionally share reflections with your peer group, practice creative restorative visualization to anchor inner tranquility, and build gentle, sustainable sleep-supporting behavioural shifts.

Facilitated by an experienced group work guide, this program centres participant autonomy, emotional comfort and mutual respect. It functions as a complementary self-care journey for adults navigating persistent insomnia and is not a substitute for formal medical sleep treatment or psychotherapy.

ABOUT THE EVENT: Sir Hans Sloane's collection of Chinese books in London is remarkably comprehensive, spanning the full range of Chinese literature and culture. When he died in 1753, his total collections included 50,000 books, prints and manuscripts and tens of thousands of other items and curiosities. These were bequeathed in his will to King George II and were among the founding collections of not only the British Museum but also the Museum of Natural History and the British Library. But how did a retired doctor in London acquire a Chinese collection of such broad scope when no one around him knew Chinese?

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Frances Wood worked in the Chinese section of the British Library for over 30 years, mainly focused on the conservation and cataloguing of thousands of Dunhuang manuscripts. The discovery of Sloane's Chinese books, buried amongst tens of thousands of later acquisitions, was a late but fascinating project. The author of many books, she is now working on the diary of literary and intellectual figure Chen Xiying during his wartime stay in London.
