I'm reluctant to review and praise this place as much of its charm is due to the relative lack of 吵. Music's good, drinks well made, bartenders considerate and skilled (I was once called "Sir", by a white girl barely my junior). It's dim, which is kind on eyes irritated by Beijing, and classy, located on 南锣鼓巷 in a place that wasn't gutted by 没有文化的外地汉奸氓。 Drinks could be cheaper, but the price is standard for legit bars in the GuLou area. Its proximity to other cool spots, like 毛毛虫 and 大跃 (MaoMaoChong and Great Leap Brewing) make it a great stop for an night of HuTong bar-hopping, but one is equally compelled to park their ass here for a pleasant evening of drinks and friends.

I like this place, it's cool and cosy. Good selection of drinks, friendly owner and good music. Definitely one of the best places in Nanlouguxiang, if not Beijing.

If you are living here or just passing through you havent completed your Beijing experience until you go to 12sqm with a good mate. Right when you walk into this place you know its special. Not just because of the size but the vibe and feeling it gives you. Its cozy, welcoming, random, unquie, and quaint all in one. And the best thing they appreciate a proper drink. If you are keen on proper bourbons but dont wanna drink at a hotel bar or lounge. This is the place for you! Its alittle on the pricey side but the quality and selection is amazing especially since its such a small venue. This is the bar you go to once and then wanna bring all your friends back to. So get the full Beijing experience and check out this super rad bar.

12 SQM isn't anymore. It's expanded. It's one of the few places in Beijing that carries my hometown favorite: Maker's Mark. This bar is a fun change of pace. I make it a point to visit once a quarter.

its tiny, so dont come with a lot of friends. Also not on the cheap side, but very cosy inside

If there's a smaller bar in Beijing, I haven't seen it, but 12sqm is more cozy than cramped, and offers a much better back-bar than anywhere else on Nan Luogu Xiang, with an excellent selection of whiskies. Well worth a visit.
