This “laozihao” (time-honored brand) restaurant, whose first branch is located in the historic Qianmen area, has been serving up some of the capital’s finest duck (RMB 142) since 1855. While Quanjudee is today the mightiest duck restaurant around, Bianyifang is said to have been the kingpin up until the founding of the People’s Republic. Whatever the history, Bianyifang’s slow roast recipe undoubtedly yields mouthwatering results.
