China Bar

A hotel bar like any other? Not quite - China Bar is perched high above its competitors, on the 65th floor of the Park Hyatt. You'll come for the 360-degree view, but the cocktails are finely mixed and fairly priced given the setting. Definitely a place to impress.

Good only for view

They could have built more tables for having the view taking advantage of it being on the 65 floor.
Impressive decor and stylish staff makes the visit worthwile. Drinks were good but the bar did not have many customers even at a peak time week day. But I liked the place. Its good to go here if you have some business discussion to happen undisturbed.

almost the best view in BJ

I have been there twice...the height is amazing which I love it...
The drinks were just OK, 70RMB for a short glass of Frangelico.
The view was amazing...only when it was good weather...
but for me...the best height bar is Vertigo in Bangkok

leaves a lot to be desired

Finally made it to the China Bar yesterday looking for the best view in Beijing and quality Cosmopolitans.

It is indeed on the 65th floor of the hotel and thus can boast claim to being the highest bar in Beijing. you actually have to take the first elevator into the 63 floor then another elevator to get to the bar!
The staff was just great! Impeccable manners, grooming and attentive to service as should be in such a place.

The view: leaves a lot to be desired! The way they built the place and the location of the booths are both wrong... you're at least 3m away from the glass and have to stand up if you actually want to have any sort of view over the city. On a smoggy night like yesterday, it's even worse...
So, Wain Wain still has the best view IMHO so far...

Cocktails.. They're not finely mixed at all. The mojito was a bit bland and the cosmo just average. Guiness was served in a pilsner glass as instead of a pint... all small details but given the cost, small details do matter!

The place is made to impress and will find its clientele, I'm just not one of them. I'll stick with wain wain for the view and go to Q bar or Centro for quality drinks.
