Crepanini 可百尼尼

In the span of two years, Crepanini has transformed from a hole-in-the-wall culinary unknown to the much sought-after French crepery at the heart of Sanlitun. This eatery aims to abolish the idea that crepes should only be consumed for brunch, serving sweet and savory crepes all day. Besides crepes, Crepanini also offers waffles, paninis, ice cream, frozen yogurt and drinks.

Yummy!

My favorite restaurant in Beijing

The paninis are great and various, quantity is generous.

Crepes are really good and the choice very gourmand: strawberry and nutella with whipped cream is delicious.
The waffles are amazing, and pretty big. I was so hungry but after it, i could eat nothing more.

You can drink sodas, fresh fruit juice, smoothie, wine, cider and kir Breton!

The place is really well decorated with a good music.

For a lunch, a dinner or a dessert, sure, I return there.

They must sell mostly spam cakes at this crap joint, because they are the biggest loaders of fake reviews on this site-and that is saying something. Is the food so bad that the have to continue to find splay their chopped ham here and think that its believable.

They sell Chinese cake, with ice cream on it, nothing you can't get at any local Chinese "bread" shop for half the price and one third the lies.

Merde!

cozy place to enjoy french food

I just land to Beijing, few weeks ago, and last weekend my friends bring me to this place for lunch.

The location in the middle of Sanlitun its just so convinent, it's close to everything, rrom there you can after go shopping, for drinks, cinema and so on!

We had different paninis and salty crepes and all of them were just delicious, although after we regret not to choose the lunch set coz it's really worthy money!

I also will suggest their hot chocolate since now it's freezing outside!

Sanlitun Terrace and French connection

One of my favourite spots in Sanlitun Area, either for a fast lunch, I will suggest a fresh, with good ingredients and delicious panini; a sweet snack in the afternoon, sweet crepes or just for a beer and now hot wine before a night out.

It's also a perfect spot during summer and spring to sit down in the terrace and enjoy some of their dishes, stay there for a while and just people watching in one of the most hot areas in Beijing.

The decoration is truly french, the waiter looks like the typical and topic french sailors, it's plenty of photography that reminds me my travels in France. And obviusly the corporative colors reffer to national flag of France.

Great Alternative for Breakfast

Some days ago I saw that they're offering a new breakfast menu.

If I can remember.. I think it was one sweet crepe, one coffe and a glass of orange juice just for 38 rmb, it's a great, cheap and delicious alternative in Sanlitun Area that totally wins the overpriced coffe shop chains like starbucks or costa cafe...

I definitely will go again!

Sweet crepes and waffles a good way to top off dinner somewhere else

Crepanini is a nice place to go with a friend (or two... but no more than that, it's tiny!) after dinner somewhere else. I had a waffle for the first time last night and agree they are better than the crepes. The sweet crepes aren't bad, I've had them several times and always enjoy, but I am also used to a bit more butter and a hotter crepe (why do the ones here always feel lukewarm or cold?). Anyways... The waffle, however, was just awesome. I shared a banana and nutella one with a friend last night. It was piping hot, fluffy with lots of nutella on top. When I go back, that's what I'm getting again!

Great time at Crepanini with my Chinese buddy

What a lovely place to have dinner or a meal!!!! The food is great and the staff is kind. They also have a nice terrace which is great with a good weather thanks to the trees that provide a good shadow.
I had a celtic crepes which was a great and a nutella crepes which was perfect .
As a french person who had lived in China for a long time this place really made me feel like home and i really needed it. They serve a good variety of crepes, waffles and panini for every taste and such a little budget compare to the quality of the food.
I really recommend this place for every afternoon snack and french food lovers

nice afternoon snacks

I never thought I would have found a nice crepe place in China, but my wife and I had a great afternoon snack, with no qualms. I got a waffle with some chocolate drizzled on top, while she had a savory crepe, with no complaints! I don't think you would find there, but we thought it was a great little spot, and the coffee was excellent! I would recommend it to any mid-afternoon snack lovers.

Cozy place. I loved the salmon crepe and chocolate banana but i think that for the price we have payed, the chocolate should be better quality.
The place looks like a north of France terrace in front of the sea. Great ! Will be back for afternoon crepe.

pretty good

The waiters are kind of idiotic (like most wait staff in BJ) but the crepes are fantastic and not badly priced. I think they just expanded their menu as well. Try the snickers one!

Go for sweet, avoid the savory

I have been disappointed by the savory crepes, but the sweet ones hit the spot. I haven't taken a look at the drink menu since they re-opened post-renovations, but last year they had some tasty cider available, too.

The servers didn't know what was inside each crepe and were not exactly attentive, but that's not why I go to this place anyway; the reason to go is to get a quick crepe fix.

Satisfies crepe cravings

As I was reading through the other reviews, I have to say that most of the negative ones are not wrong -- these crepes could definitely use some butter. And the lack of decent seating often dissuades me from stopping by -- I rarely find the weather or ambience of San Li Tun at street level conducive to dining outdoors.

That being said, I'm just overjoyed to have anyplace at all to get my hands on some delicious crepes! If you're on the go, or picking up some food to eat at home, this is a great choice. They have a nice variety of both sweet and savoury crepes, and while no one would mistake these for authentic, the crepes are of a high standard and carefully prepared. They make a pleasant change from the usual budget choices of burgers, pizza, or Tex-Mex.

the art of copy and paste

Review of Crepanini

"in the span of two years," crepanini has been able to master the art of copying and pasting their above description about themselves four times to make it look like they wrote a lot.
"in the span of two years," crepanini has been able to waste a lot of people's time as they read through their description only to find out it is the exact same words.
"in the span of two years," crepanini has not been able to realize this mistake and correct it.
for how many more years will crepanini hold the title of copy and paste artist?

Great crepes, comfortable atmosphere

Quaint and intimate, Crepanini offers a comfortable setting to go along with great crepes. I decided to check the place out after a light dinner in Sanlitun and came away quite impressed, as the Tutti Frutti crepe that I got was absolutely delicious.

Prices are decent – in the range of typical SLT prices, although definitely about RMB 5-10 cheaper than the crepes at Le Petit Gourmand. Portion size is also pretty good. The only complaint I had about this place was that they ran out of fresh strawberries for the crepe that I ordered, but offered to supplant it with extra mangos, which still turned out to be amazing. I haven't tried the paninis yet, but I'm sure they're top-notch as well.

Definitely recommend everyone try it out any time you’re in the SLT area, whether it's for a quick dessert, a lunch date, or just to satisfy a crepe-craving.

Butter

n.
1. A soft yellowish or whitish emulsion of butterfat, water, air, and sometimes salt, churned from milk or cream and processed for use in cooking and as a food.

Should not need to tell this to a French person but this yellowish gold is what is desperately missing at Crepanini. The food (apart from lack of butter) is good. Panini is actually quite yummy if you want nice sandwich just ask for it without the side salad (a piece of lettuce soaked in vinaigrette that will seep into your panini). Would like to give it 3 and a half stars because its only lacking butter, and the service is average but then again good service is hard to find in Beijing.

Highly recommended

This is a gem of a place. I have only eaten there once but my roommate, regularly brings home bags of their crepes. They are melt-in-your-mouth wonderful! For my dine-in experience, we both ordered banana chocolate crepe. It was too yummy. Not cheap, but well worth the price. Highly recommended!

Had a quick stand-up lunch there today and my companion and I were both impressed - the panini I had was grilled just right and the combination of jambon and frommage had just the right amount of flavor. It was also refreshing to be able to have a stand-up quick bite in a nice and clean environment. The jug of fresh water is a nice touch as well.

French crepes as original as Gucci from Yashow

I don' understand the hype about this place: albeit the crepes are affordable, they aren't filling or especially tasty. The ingredients are fresh but, tenants simply don't get the amount correct: either too much or too little and as another user pointed out, no butter. Criminal.

Not that good...

Review of Crepanini

I went there after reading all the good comments on this page, and I was pretty disappointed. Mostly because I read the tenants are from Bretagne. If they were Chinese, well, it would be a little success.
1) If there's one thing i can't accept, it's the lack of fresh butter on the top of the crepe (usually added just before service, so it's still melting when it comes). Butter is not hard to find, it's not expensive.
2) The salad is served in the same plate, wich makes the whole crepe completely ruined by the vinaigrette.
3) The fillings are way too "wet". The should put less tomatos, less cream, less cheese, and let them cook open a longer time.
4) The salmon crepe is almost un-eatable : the crepe is fully wet with lemon and I felt like eating a salmon, cream and lemon soup with a few pieces of cooked pancake floating around.
5) The 25rmb cider cup is filled with the most untasty cider I've ever drunk.

But, for a reasonable price (though to eat to your full belly and drink some you need more than 100), it's ok. The best we tried was not the Bretonne but the one with cream, cheese, ham.
