Tucked into a busy back alley of Houhai, the Hai Bar offered the best 360 views of the lake and the surrounding area. We stopped in today and started out on the 3rd floor roof top terrace with a bottle of wine. It started to get a bit windy, so we moved to the second floor, which is filled with tables and couches. Because larger parties started arriving for dinner, the manager asked us to move so he could use our table to combined with a couple of others...no biggie. The manager/owner apologized several times and when we left, he took 20% off of our bill for the inconvenience. It was a pleasantly surprising first impression.
The food is chinese, dumplings, soups and some fried dishes--all pretty cheap. I really enjoyed the bar and will definitely return on a warmer evening.
