Jazz-Ya 爵士

A venerable "elder statesman" of Beijing's food and drink scene, this Sanlitun spot has been serving Japanese-style pub grub (everything from sushi and soba noodles to sizzling steak plates and pizza) and killer cocktails (long island ice teas, saketinis) for well over a decade. Expect the look and feel of a Japanese diner, with the clientele and music (J-Pop and jazz) to boot.

Posting for their next door japanese restaurant

It's the same owner and in the past few years, they decided to open a sushi bar right next to it. The name to this restaurant is Lu Chuan. Very good lunch sets at a very cheap price for what you get. The lunch menu starts from 80rmb. Everytime I go there, I will alway order their most expensive 120rmb 5 course lunch sets. It comes with appetizers, sushi, sashim, tempura and dessert. It gets my friends and I so full each and every time. The fish are very fresh and are flown in from Japan twice a week. Just a little note though, this is a sushi bar, so if you're looking for ramen, chicken terriyaki and such, this will not be the place for you as their menu consists of mostly sushi and sashimi. If you want to test this place out, do go for the lunch first as their dinner is way too expensive for my budget.

Not many people for a reason

Went here one day after there was no tables avalible where we wanted to go. Decorations are nothing to write home about. Didn't try the drinks but the food was pretty average. The noodles were ok, but if they had of concerntrated on one type of food rather than offer everything from chinese, to japanese, to american, to italian, to god knows what, it would have been much tastier.

There are too many good restaurants around now for this place to be called good.
