Lantern 灯笼

Techno, house and more from the 700sqm club run by Beijing's own Acupuncture Records. There are welcome echoes of the original Lantern in this club's function-over-form design. The sound system is OK, though the lighting could use more tricks. Regular visits from international electronic music stars as well as nights headlined by the best of Beijing's electronic music scene.

Friday night the croud wants to have a good night out and enjoy some electro music. Everybody is preparing to have a blast and forget the stress from the hard working week. You are picking Lantern club as destination. Doesn't matter, that taxidrivers cant properly find it and you have to put in a lot of effort telling exactly where to stop;
doesn't matter, that your shoes are all in sand, while you try to climb through a little hole in a fence;
doesn't matter, that you are almost falling down on slippery stairs and trying to make your way through some "drunk-high" zombies;
doesn't matter, you look in a cloakroom with barely no jackets;
doesn't matter, you pay 100 cover fee for an empty club with medium famous DJ and get fake over prized alcohol;
doesn't matter, you are nearly throwing up when you see dirty, disgusting toilets without no toilet paper;
but what really does matter are the HORRIBLY RUDE promoters and staff.

Spoiled night!!!!! Never going back there again

I <3 Lantern

Lantern is no normal club I have ever been to. For a start its underground and the entrance is a giant glowing pyramid, the dance floor is huge and the music is loud enough to make you dance even if you don’t want to. Beijing’s finest techno, minimal and electro club is situated just off of the Workers Stadium in Sanlitun and is definitely getting marked down on my map. Lantern retains is exclusiveness by only opening on Friday and Saturday and each week offers Beijing’s party animals a sanctuary for the night, laying down the craziest parties around while feeding you music**til dawn. So if you want to taste the finest music Beijing has to offer and you like to party a little bit too much then Beijing finally has the answer, and it begins with an L.

New Lantern!

Lantern keeps on delivering, this weekend Secret Cinema filled up the dance floor and kept the people dancing until the next morning! Both drinks and entrance are fairly priced and you certainly get your money's worth in this place. Lantern is the place to go for techno and electronic music in beijing. Hurry up and get tickets for upcoming Carl Craig, one of many DJ's coming to Lantern this December, see you there! :D

I was so excited about new lantern...I'm not saying Im disapointed but it's nowhere as good as old lantern or The House...enviroment,bar location,dj stand is just horrible...speakers are blocking screen and dj...uneven floor..too many stairs,horrible air circulation...but personaly what I really care about is music which is very good.after The house Was shut down I've been going to that tiny little bar under kokomo bar to enjoy minimal electro techno kinda music...I must admit I rather stick to that tiny bar...I not sure i'd visit lantern that often
