Good Pasta

I've seen the meeting point a few times but had never eaten there until recently.
Over all, my wife and I were quite impressed. It is a very nice atmosphere - nice and cozy.
The homemade pasta was very tasty, and the sauces and meats were really well done. I had ordered something that came with pork chops (actually it was ribs) but the meat was just falling off the bones.
The service was quite good, and they kept our water glasses full without having to ask.
The only bad points was the portions were a little small (we left feeling a little hungry still) and the complementary 'bread' were a selection of crackers.

Back to the future Italian

This used to be a 5 star Itlain for me but has lost its edge.

At there previous location the food, service, price, everything was top quality and I visited many times with my partner over 3 years but now...

They have lost that dining experience they once had which made it my favourite.

The food is still good, not as good, for example the starters were superb, my salmon and aurugala starter was perfect, my partenrs russian soup, thick and tasty.

The mains were tasty but lack imagination.

The Grilled chicken and Steak looked exactly the same except for the meat. This is just lazy presentation, very dissapointed. In the old location this qould not have happened.

Other small things like the glasses for the water looked like kids cups and the napkins were cheap worn cotton one that looked very tacky.

One other small detail was that there was friends or families of the business sat in the seats behind us watching a film at full sound on her laptop. Not what I expected.

The location in Shangjing is not as convienient as in CBD and will mean I will have to really justify going back again.

This is now catering towards families by the small changes which is not a bad thing but for me this is not what I expected from this reastuarant.

Now not my number 1 Italian unless they went back to the previous level in CBD but still good food and ideal for families.

Excellent authentic Italian

Excellent authentic Italian food, nice atmosphere. Place is fairly quiet, likely due to the location. The prices are fairly high, but not considering the quality of food. Good service - I've never heard anyone yelling for the waiter there (or maybe that's a comment on the clientele, not the service...)

Great for families

Business isn't exactly buzzing at their Landgent location (especially when compared to the ever crowded Xiabu Xiabu next door), but that's part of the charm of this neighborhood Italian restaurant, one of the few in the area, and an old standby for our family.

The pizzas are decent, but I'm partial to the sugo di pesce allo scoglio (seafood pasta).

Great, personalized service by Italian owner

Meeting Point is a fabulous little place. They used to be in mall called The Place but have recently relocated to Shuangjing. The Italian owner and chef make it a point to be visible in the dining room, which is a nice, reassuring touch. Prices are moderate (as are the portions) and I'd recommend their pan-seared chicken breasts with lemon sauce or any of their hand-made pastas. The salads and pizzas are decent as well.
