Mesh

With windows looking on to the streets of Sanlitun, this ground level bar in the Opposite House hotel allows for the chance to while away the day and night watching the world go by. An enviable collection of wines and signature Martinis are offered to enjoy on the comfortable couches, among the mesh and linen drapes hang from the walls and ceiling. The modern pseudo-Bedouin twist to the decor creates an airy and relaxed atmosphere equally at home to post-retail therapy or a night on the tiles. Thursday nights draws a gay-friendly crowd.

nice place to chill out, drink and chat with friends. Comfortable couch and relaxing lighting, also a cool venue for small informal events.

overpriced and overhyped

I recently went along with some friends to Mesh, since I had heard so many people raving about Opposite house and its bars. I admit Opposite house is beautiful and I love the design there, but Mesh...very disappointing. Instead of just being good at making standard quality drinks they fill the drink card with absurd drinks at ridiculous prices that taste bad. The interoir design leaves a lot to be desired and despite its great location im not at all impressed with the outdoor patio which feels small and cramped when all seats are taken.

Don't look at the photos. Drink the martinis!

I'm guessing the Opposite House put up the two photos posted here, but I really have no idea why. Whatever you do, don't look at the photos!! The do such disservice to the place. At night, the light is dim and the ambiance is much nicer than as shown in the photos (who would actually want to go to a place that felt as empty and sterile as the photos depict????).

Drink the martinis! Or, if you'd rather save some kuai, but are interested in checking out Thursdays when the bar is packed with men and a growing number of women also meet, then order an Asahi and have it served in a tall, thin chilled glass.

Do be forewarned, though, that for some reason domestic cards weren't swiping a while back. Hopefully, they've resolved this issue. I wouldn't know because now I only ever go with cash in hand.

this is one of my favorite bars in Beijing. Great place located in the middle of the action in Sanlitun, in the opposite house. Everything at the opposite house is a divine experience. Mesh is one of the
most glamorous bars/lounges in the city . Their cocktails are very fresh specially the lychee Martini. the music is fantastic, great for background and not to loud to hold a nice conversation.

The bartenders are very fashionable, amicable, and very well trained. their bar always looks impeccable no matter how busy they get. i highly recommend this place is not overly expensive and you are i a great venue

after mesh carry on a glamorous night partying at Punk.

For the whiskey drinker

Really nice low-key lounge at the Opposite House. This place doesn't really fill up that often but its a good place to go after work for a few drinks. They've good a pretty good whiskey selection and wide variety of other mixed drinks. Expect to pay about 70-80 kuai per drink.
