Now near the Bookworm and run by Huxley (of Huxley's, Houhai Zoo and White Rabbit), Nanjie's new location has two floors but should be just as packed with exchange students as before, and continues to offer the same low prices - a "rack" of shots is RMB 100 for 12. Winner of the "Best Cheap Drinks" award in our 2007 Reader Bars and Clubs Awards.

Cheap beer and good choice of drinks.
The guys make good mojito but if you dont beleive the mixed drinks have the best brand of spirits go for beer. We do that and is a good place to save some money on drinks at the end of the month.

This is the college bro's perfect dive bar. Things are cheap, the authenticity of the liquor is questionable, music is loud, and the cocktails are a little on the watered down side.
Place is packed, but I think that your money is better spent elsewhere.

Great place to go for cheap drinks, and like others have said, the music is pretty good. They do have some pretty funny names for shots, such as Taiwan Duck Fart and Shut Up and Lay Down both of which actually turned out to be pretty good. Just a warning, you might not like the Hot B*tch which seemed like it was just a mix of tobasco and vodka.

Good place to start your night with a group of people, cheap drinks, nice music. However the cheap rum-cokes, gin tonics and so on are quite small. I always order them per 2 if I'm drinking those instead of beer. Furthermore in summer it used to be a good place to watch the crowd standing on the street from their balcony.

I'm a bit skeptical of the drinks there since my friends have too often complained of massive hangovers after drinking at this venue. Nevertheless, if you want to get plastered or just pre-game without burning a hole in your wallet then you're sure to accomplish that at Nanjie. Another plus, they spin pretty good house on the lower level.

Well this place is always the place to go at the end of the month,the monthly budget is getting over!
They make good mixed drinks and I have never had complaints.
Even the pizza 1 piece works for me if I am alone.

Well this place does not have any great decor or ambience but the place works when you just want to drink specially when you dont have enough money and dont have friends whom you want to impress.
The snacks are edible and fine.

Have had here many drink sessions with friends when we really want to drink!
3 hours drinking and we still end up paying 200 rmb or 300 rmb and all guys in our group are real drinkers.
The place is dirt cheap, most guys know.
Went there recently after a long time and realised again the virtues of how one can really get drunk with friends and still dont spend too much money!
The drinks quality is quite fine.
