Review of
Pyro Pizza Whenever I get that "pizza-craving" I often get just before dinner, the first thing that comes to my mind is Pyro Pizza (πϱ - PiRho)
Of all the pizza places ive sampled in Beijing: Pyro Pizza, Hutong Pizza, Big Pizza, Mr. Pizza, Dominos, La Cascina, Annie's, Peppes, Kro's Nest, etc, I believe Pyro comes second; just a little behind Annie's. I'm not a big fan of thick pizzas like those ones in Pizza Hut. Pizzas should be thin, flaky and simple, like the ones they serve in Pyro.
The large 8-slice pizzas cost between 79-113RMB (I have the menu in my hand), which I think are reasonable prices (The drinks are a tad expensive though). I would recommend the pepperoni, margarita, supreme, and BBQ chicken, but this all comes down to personal taste. Their pizzas are "Americanized", as would any pizza-loving Italian would say. If you're looking to find real Italian pizza in Beijing, chances are you would be disappointed, like me.
The atmosphere of the place is relaxing, but can be noisy sometimes (really, really annoying), because of those students who like to hang out there. The service is not constant, although most of the waiters/waitresses try to be as helpful as they can. Its when the place is crowded and noisy that they are sometimes too overloaded and its difficult to get their attention. You have to pay as soon as you finish ordering, which I find to be inconvenient and rude, but the good news is that you can leave quickly without having to wait for the bill or anything. The restroom is not as clean as I would like it, but most restrooms in Beijing are far worse anyways. Home delivery service is standard, although sometimes they take longer than usual when its Friday night or weekends.
To wushumaro's review, no offense, but its 60RMB for 12 chicken wings, not 6. I feel sorry for your bad experience, but get your facts straight, and please try not to make a biased review. Don't force your opinions on people.
To sum it up, I would go to Pyro for a good pizza because it's quite close to where I live, and I would recommend anyone close by to check it out and see if its to your liking or not. Pyro is by no means a to-die-for pizzeria, and I wouldn't take a 40 minute ride just to eat their pizza. Unlike Annie's, which is my favourite.
