This may bite me in the ass because I literally live a one minute walk away from Salud and stop by often, but this place is a hole. The prices are high, drinks weak, and one can see in the smokey miasma soundwaves of the cataphonic chorus of chao composed of CHITCHAT and crappy bands that are typical of the Ho-Hi "music" "bars". On the two occasions I showed up to catch bands they'd advertised as booked, there was an inexcusably incomparable alternate playing in their stead. I'm unaware if they falsely publicize booking real bands or if the betters have an understandable change-of-heart at the last minute.

Sadly common failings aside, it's open well into the morning, and a great place to bs with strangers, pick up girls, or watch Chinese girls get picked up and carried out by, I hope, considerate friends. It's also the only place in the area where you can dance, even if you can't dance, to the poot-tootinin tunes of funk and electro.

The Salud of Sanlitun is quite a nice bar because it is feathuring very good electronic music -and even a tremendous live set once I was passing by- a professional service, good prices and quite a nice atmosphere -except for the smoke-. This is the kind of place you might become quickly a regular and the rhum with macerated fruits are delicious and made with firsthand good rhum.

But there is 3 small inconvenients wich are the reason why i cant give them a straight 5

The place is so small that dancing even around tables can be frustrating. It is quite smoky easily which can be a real pain for non smokers like me. And a lady complained the bathroom are too small to sit on.

Appart from that this is a good joint. Probably more suited to drink with friends than for a romantic cocktail with your soulmate.

I went to the Salud location in nanluoguxiang with friends (just wandering the street) and it was great fun. We were there for one of the world cup games which maybe means it was more crowded than usual, but the atmosphere was really awesome. The owners were very nice and talkative, and the tapas were great too. I had a sandwich with meat and cheese and a kind of fried beef tapas. My friend assured me the sandwich was the same as he would get in Miami, and the beef tapas was very good. The sandwich was a good deal but the tapas are a little bit pricey. Either way, sometimes you can get a free tapas with a pint of beer and even if you're paying full price this place is really enjoyable.

Keep it simple to basics is what this place does.
Good drinks .Right prices and reasonable service.

Before I had a problem with the quality of cocktails here.
Last experience was good though.
Would keep coming to check again before patronising in a big way.

Went there again recently.

Was very crowded but managed to get a table upstairs, crowd was friendly, no hassle.
Despite that the place was heaving we had no trouble getting our drinks throughout the night, waitress with the dyed blond hair saw to that.
Good job.

Drinks were fairly priced, though we only drunk beer.
I had some good snack food here once in the afternoon a couple of years ago, so I can't really comment on the food beyond that.

Will be back.

Salud is definitely the best bar on Nanluogu Xiang, and one of my favourites in the city. The beer prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is great. On weekends the place is really buzzy, without crappy music blaring from the speakers like so many Sanlitun joints. It can get a little crowded, especially on weekends, which can make it difficult to get a seat. In winter, though, that just makes the place all the more cosy. Usually has a good, pleasantly boozed up crowd too.

I've never eaten here - or seen anyone else eat for that matter. Doesn't strike me as a particularly good place for a bite. But for drinking, it's one of Beijing's best watering holes.

The best part of salud is the flavoured rums and I keep trying some new flavours each time I am there.
While beer pries are good,the food could improve .
At these prices I dont expect great service.

Of my usual hangouts in Beijing, this is the one I'll miss the most. Not only it's a safe haven from the annoying frat boys from Sanlitun, but the beer is always chilly and more than affordable (I honestly don't know who would say the drinks there are expensive... maybe a loyal customer of shooters?). The home infused cinnamon rum is perfect, although it's always the gateway to drunken mayhem (but hey, whoever said that was a bad thing?).

The staff is friendly but extremely forgetful except when it comes to charging for the bill. The food is the only drawback: granted it's a bar, so nobody should go there expecting a gourmet meal, however their tapas are poorly made and bland.

It's always packed, but especially on Wednesdays thanks to their live music events and on weekends, when all hell really breaks loose.
And hey... I'd much rather be surrounded by "obnoxious French people" who are capable of carrying a conversation that drunken frat boys from... Well, you get the picture.

Overpriced, small,crap food with crap service. What's with the two Yeti's - all that facial hair man and piercing's. Don't you realise people coming to eat in a bar/restaurant want hygienic looking bar staff not a pair of French nimbies-dim and dimer!
