Supposedly 4,500m in length, this cave is named after the unique crystalline formation deep within it that looks like a fox hanging upside down. Descend a steep staircase 80m below ground to a roomy cavern. Discovered by coal miners in 1991, the cave is over 100m deep and has an average temperature of 13°C year round - great to visit during the torrid summer months. You can take a guided boat ride (RMB 20) on the underground streams.
Bus: Bus 917支3 from Tianqiao to Hebeizhuang (河北庄). From there, take a taxi (around RMB 20) or change to minibus 21, 22 or 23 to the cave.
Car: Take Jingshi expressway from Liuli Qiao on the West Third Ring Road to Fangshan, then go west to Fozizhuang intersection and turn left. Note that signposts are sporadic and underestimate distances from Fangshan to the cave by 10km, so you may have to ask for directions.
