Best Thai in town

I just have to completely disagree with the below review, enough to add my own.
I have enjoyed Very Siam's dishes for years - their curries are authentic and delicious.
The Red Curry with Chicken Breast is always generous with the meat, the mushrooms with chili are great and the cold tofu entree like one you would get in Thailand.
As for the price - what is it with everyone in Beijing banging on about a meal that costs $20 a head?
This is 2011, Beijing is a modern city, if you wanted something for 5 bucks, you're 10 years too late.
Thumbs up for Very Siam, the best Thai in town

Disapointing and expensive

This is not real thai food. The "dry beef" curry that arrived looked like a chili con carne salsa barfed on a plate with no spices. The "green vegetable curry" was a greenish soup with barely any spice at all and only the green pappaya salad was distinctively tastefull with dried thai shrimp.

The pineaple rice was with this disgusting meat powder (meat floss) that people put on food sometime and the satay chicken taste not like thai food at all.

Service is really nice but the food is absolutely awfull.

300 for that and a beer and a cocktail.

A bad restaurant.

The quest for a good thai restaurant in Beijing continue

Love it!

Highly recommend curry eggplant(39RMB) and curry crab(168RMB). Love curry eggplant, can't be better and it's cheap! Remember to reserve a table ahead. They only accept reservations for until 7pm(or 7:15pm, at least they kept the table for us until this time). Yummy.

Very Siam- Good for a Date

I went to Very Siam near Gongti for lunch today. Only had the Tom Yum Goong and it was good with lots of mushrooms and a rich broth. I asked for spicy, but it really wasn't. I like my Tom Yum Goong a bit more sour, this one was a tad too sweet. The interior was elaborate, good place to impress a date. Although you have to walk through a clothes market similar to Silk Street to get to the restaurant which is on the 4th floor. The level of this restaurant doesn't quite fit the surroundings. Waitress said the chef is Thai which is good. From what I ate, I give it 7 out of 10.
