Xiang Man Lou 香满楼
Xiang Man Lou is little-known among the expat community, but many Beijingers say it has the best duck in town. This clean restaurant is always packed with people, old and young, queueing for tables. The restaurant looks something like a New York diner from the outside, and the booth seating by the window adds to that feeling. However, Xiang Man Lou serves wonderful Peking duck and large portions of genuine Shandong-style food. At RMB 118 for a whole duck (with condiments), it’s a steal.

Review of Xiang Man Lou
The duck is yummy, the service is efficient and the portions are HUGE. The only downside is the decoration that is so-so and bright and the fact that the place close quite early.
They also propose microbrewed beers.
For the rest a great restaurant, more for a familly good time than a romantic dinner.

Review of Xiang Man Lou
Going there since 9 years and the quality of the duck has been stable over all the time. Prices are reasonable, crowd is mixed western / Chinese (what I take as a good sign). This is not a place to impress but just to have a very decent duck that is significantly better than the ones at the high end places. Nor surprises here but also never a disappointment.

Review of Xiang Man Lou
Not only in terms of value for money but just the best tasting duck in Beijing. Often very crowded so better book in advance.
All other dishes, interior and service are average...but the duck and the sauce: great
