Yaoji Chaogan Dian 姚记炒肝店

The residents who live outside Qianmen used to have chaogan (炒肝) at the morning market. Now this breakfast staple is available at this simple restaurant on Gulou Dongdajie. A bowl of pork liver and intestines is served in a mushroom broth thickened with mung bean starch, and topped with crushed raw garlic.

要想吃炒肝儿,鼓楼一拐弯儿! This is the doggerel that all the Beijingers know about Yaoji. More and more people like and enjoy the traditional local food recently not because the taste only also for the cultural in the dish. Yaoji
's chaogan keeps the traditional taste of old Beijing, many garlic grain in it and it is very clean. It's horrible if the Feichanger(pigs' intestine)is not clean, hehe, but some people said if the intestine is so clean the dish would lose the good taste.

You always need to wait for the seat if you go there, cause the shop is so popular, you can also taste other old Beijing food there in the shop, pay 20 or less you can get a good meal. Don't know if foreigners can accept animal haslet, good for try if you want to taste the real old Beijing food.

the most authentic Chaogan in Beijing

I was born and raised up in this city, like all old beijingers, i like chaogan very much. the chaogan served at Yaoji is probably the best. you can judge from the fact that there's always a long queue waiting in front of the cashier. The owner, who has ran this restaurant for decades, is still up and running, so is the whole Yao family. Overall, a good place to try laobeijing food if you don't mind eating pork liver and intestines.
