This effortlessly cool neighborhood bistro is filled with candle-lit tables, friendly service, reasonably priced wine and soundtrack of Rive Gauche grooves and gypsy jazz foster languorous tête-à-têtes. The menu offers simple French fare sans the stuffy interiors and high prices. Try the hot chèvre with herbs and honey, quiche with blue cheese and walnuts, steak cut and cooked the French way – rare means very rare – as well as vegetarian entrees that work as appetizers for two. The crème brulée sells out quickly, and the restaurant’s Lama Temple location makes it easy to pursue your revels in hip Gallic style at, say, Salud in Nanluoguxiang, which is a short taxi ride away. Voted "Outstanding French" in the Beijinger's 2011 Reader Restaurant Awards.
