Two things: I am not American, and I am vegetarian. So perhaps a Thanksgiving meal anywhere would fall short. For RMB200 the portions were reasonable, but the quality way below par. The included wine was cheap and vinegary. The starter was a soup that was, strangely, sweet and rather oily. I was assured that a vegetarian option for the main course would be available but ended up ordering from their normal menu - the chickpea veggie burger is flavourless and fell apart. They had run out of pumpkin pie, which, seeing as we had specifically reserved the Thanksgiving meal, we were quite annoyed about. The redeeming features of the meal for me were the cheesecake (rich and not bad at all for Beijing!) and the polite, fairly prompt and attentive service (obviously some improvements have been made since previous reviews, or maybe we just got lucky). However, my friend couldn't finish her Boston Cream Pie, which she said barely resembled the real thing.
All in all, not at all what I had hoped for from an 'American' restaurant for my first Thanksgiving meal.
