Weekend Live Music Roundup: White+, Metalheads and Holiday Schedules

Quietly, people are slipping out of the capital, and so are the musicians and bar owners. The quietest week in Beijing is coming soon, but it's not here yet.
Tonight, metal bands such as Nakoma and Army of Jade Kirin keep Gulou area's MAO Livehouse rocking. Wudaokou's metal base 13 Club holds the same spirit up in a darker color. Local label Maybe Mars' major musicians, Zhang Shouwang with his White+ and P.K. 14's Yang Haisong bring in the music experiment at D-22 on Saturday.

Then it's time for the bars to take a break for the Chinese New Year: Jiang Hu Liveshow Bar and East Shore Live Jazz Café already closed their doors and will both reopen on February 7th. MAO Livehouse and D-22 will start their break from February 1, MAO reopens on February 8 and D-22 on the 11th.
Nevertheless, there are still places stays open and warm during the spring festival - like the Bookworm and Hot Cat Club. Neil Conway jams at the Bookworm on Feb 5, and Tiny Salt Coffee Club will have a party on the New Years Eve (Feb 2).
