Must-Visit Pop-up Shop at Today Art Museum: Only 13 Days Left!

Approx, an independent designer boutique in Nali Patio, has remained on the Beijinger radar for quite some time now. We first extolled the brand and its offerings back in November 2010. The young stylish owner, P.J. (add her on Weibo here), has since started a clothing line called Black + Noir, but jewelry and accessories remain the store’s specialty.

Considering the trendiness of pop-up shops (see here, here, here and here), we should’ve known that’d be P.J’s next step.

22 Pop-up Store debuted with a grand party at De Club Cafe on December 22, 2011, and will be open until January 12, 2012 at the Today Art Museum’s gift shop. P.J. and her friends Ma La and Luo Yi drew from the work of 16 contemporary artists, four clothing designers and six jewelry designers to curate a selection that will be on sale to the public for a total of 22 days.

The temporary concept store is also collaborating with fashion e-commerce site LC Style Network (www.linkchic.com), where its wares can also be browsed and purchased for a limited time only.

According to 22 Pop-up Store’s press release, pop-up shops allow fashionistas to focus more on fashion design and prices as opposed to the visual concept, to better reflect the authentic style of the buyer.

Look out for our interview with P.J in our February 2011 issue.
