Only 16 More Years Until Clean Air in China!

Clean air is coming  no later than 2030, it appears.

"From today through to 2030, we can reduce air pollution in China, and 'APEC blue' days are also achievable," Xie Zhenhua, vice chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said at a press conference Wednesday held by the State Council Information Office, according to China Daily.

It's interesting to see the phrase "APEC Blue" is now being used by government officials.

"China has made a few digressions and some mistakes which have led to serious air pollution," Xie said.

As of the writing of this post, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Beijing was 380. Sixteen years is a long time.
