The first phase of the R4 Line is expected to open towards the end of 2029.

Beijing Looks to Improve City's Health Services

The Beijing Municipal Health Commission has released its "Action Plan for a Higher Level of Medical and Health Services in Beijing (2026)” (《北京市更高水平医疗卫生服务行动计划(2026年)》).

Among the measures outlined in the document is the plan to increase the number of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the city. At the end of 2023, there were already more than 5,000 AEDs in key areas around the city. The planned addition of 2,500 AEDs to communities around Beijing will bring the city even closer to its goal of having 50 AEDs per 100,000 residents.

Other aims of the action plan include setting up 100 first aid skills training points, training an initial batch of 200 first aid instructors, training 20,000 people in CPR and AED use, and improving hospital emergency services related to assessing stroke patients and treating patients with acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
