EAT: Cantina Agave Terrace Relaunch and the Best of Bistrot B

Shanghai transplant Cantina Agave seems to have fallen off the radar in the last 12 months or so (although they did win Outstanding Mexican in our Reader Restaurant Awards this year), but they are looking to change that as they open they newly remodeled and expanded terrace this Saturday, August 15. Head down from 7-9pm for free-flow beer, sangria, and margaritas, all for free and accompanied by Mexican snacks. After 9pm drinks will be buy-one-get-one free. Sounds like a good way to start your Saturday.

For a slightly swankier night out, check out the new Best of Bistro B menu at, well, Bistro B. For RMB 980 for two people, you can sample some of the restaurant's most popular dishes, including Guillardeau oysters, onion soup gratineé, and beef Bourguignon, before moving up to newly-opened MEI Bar to share a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. Make a night of it by adding a wine pairing, which will take the total up to RMB 1,300. I stopped by Bistro B for brunch this past weekend and can confidently say they they serve some of the best, if not the best, French cuisine in Beijing.
