Kipp's Picks: Agoraphobes Best to Avoid These Wild NYE Parties
Here it is. Our favorite NYE parties this week. While the other parties might have a little more class and a little less fake alcohol, you can expect these to be filled with people sloppily making out once the clock strikes 12 along with the glimmer of the subsequent regrets the following day. You have been warned. While you're out killing it on the dancefloor, shed a tear for our Shanghai brethren who have had New Year's Eve all but cancelled this year. If you're reading from down south, you should know that there's always room for you, too!

NASSA NYE Party
NASSA presents the only NYE bass party in town with everything from dubstep, trap, and DnB to keep you bumping and grinding into the new year. DJs like Conrank, Ring, Civan, Paco, and Senders Chen will be playing the kind of futuristic room shattering music that true bass heads are sure to lose their minds over. C´est Chic – NYE at Cicada
For this year’s NYE Cicada presents something extra special. All the way from Barcelona comes Marc Piñol, a fixture in Barcelona´s scene for more than 20 years. After being elected best DJ of the year numerous times, you can be sure he knows a thing or two about keeping the party thrashing till morning. Expect a journey from disco via house to techno and back so you can move your booty till the sun goes up. RMB 100. 9pm. Cicada
NYE Monkey King Chug Off Tournament at The Local
The Local is celebrating the coming year of the monkey with a chug off tournament of Slowboat Brewery’s Monkey Fist IPA, which will also be served on draft for RMB 30 all night long. This along with all of the necessary NYE shenanigans that we’ve come to expect from The Local will make this a night to remember. Tiki Exotica New Year at Bungalow
Revel in the magic of tiki this New Years, as Bungalow throws together a tasty little Polynesian celebration with enough specials on their potent drinks to make sure you are howling at midnight. New Year’s Eve at Dada
Prepare yourself for an evening with Compact Dicks (A.K.A. Morgan Short). He just returned from a steamy Southeast Asian adventure where he got his groove back sipping on chardonnay with Taye Diggs. Expect a catalogue of party hits that span multiple genres and generations that will hopefully prepare you for yet another disgusting year on this unforgiving planet.
