Raise Money for Puppies at Xian Bar with Penny's and Pet Orphans Home, Sep 10

Do you like puppies? Of course you do, you're not a monster. Well, why not take some time out on Saturday, September 10 to meet some adoptable dogs, enjoy great food and drinks, and raise money while you're at it at an Adoption Day and Fundraiser (3-10pm) at EAST Beijing's Xian Bar, organized by Penny's Food Studio in aid of Pet Orphan's Home

Established in 2007, Beijing-based Pet Orphan's Home is a non-profit animal shelter and adoption center (note they provide shelter and adoption for both dogs and cats, although only the dogs will be making an appearance at the event on September 10). They have two centers in Liangxiang (Fangshan) and Changping (Changping), offering international-standard (they work according to guidelines from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (UK) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare) care and rehabilitation for around 70 animals. As with any non-profit, they are always looking for volunteers if you would like to help out, email info@pohome.cn or follow them on WeChat at pohome2007.

Proceeds from all sales at the event will go directly to the shelter. In addition, there will be a charity raffle for nearly 40 prizes from 30 great sponsors, including a meal for two at Feast at EAST Beijing, brunch for four at Taco Bar, and a cocktail class for four people at BBC.

Not only will Penny's match all sales from the event with an equivalent food donation to Pet Orphans Home, but for every view they get on their original WeChat post about the event they will donate 1g of fresh food to the organization. Find the post here and be sure to repost on your WeChat moments.

The event is the latest in a series of pet-friendly events around town organised by Penny's, including past events at Hatchery, Modernista, and Taco Bar. Founded in 2015, out of a basic distrust of commercial pet food in China, Penny's produce fresh, healthy pet food made from ingredients that any human would probably be happy eating.
