EAT: Indonesian Food Week at Feast, 4Corners Vietnamese Pop-Up at Jing-A, The Hatchery's Return, Pies for the People
This week's food promotions seem largely Southeast Asian-themed. For one week only (from Sep 19-23) Feast will be bringing Beijing 'A Taste of Indonesia' (sampling plate pictured at the top). Back by popular demand the Indonesian food week menus will be available for lunch for RMB 128 for two courses or RMB 158 for three courses, including a free-flow buffet of starters (lumpia, bakwan sayur (vegetable fritters), sago pudding, and other favorites), and a main course. For dinner, try the whole hog with a four-course menu for RMB 178 (all prices are subject to service charge and VAT).
For your Vietnamese food fix, get to Jing-A Taproom on September 22, from 5pm to late, where 4corners will be taking over the kitchen, serving up buncha (rice noodle salad) with skewers of grilled meat and summer rolls for just RMB 100.
The beer menu will be handled by Pasteur Street Brewing Company, a Vietnamese craft beer company, pouring pints of Jasmine IPA, Passionfruit Wheat Ale, and Toasted Coconut Porter, for RMB 35.
In other foodie news, culinary incubator Hatchery has announced that they will be back following the sudden closure of their Tuanjiehu location, planning to open their new spot this autumn at the 5L Meet lifestyle space on Dongsijiutiao Hutong. More information on that as it becomes available.
