INN Charity Clothing Auction
Ride your wave of anti-guilt right to Tuesday's charity clothing auction courtesy of the International Newcomers Network. The group has decided to dedicate all the proceeds from this event (their last of 2018) to Dew Drops/Little Flower Project. Social English Salon
Have you been living in Beijing a while now but can't seem to find the right occasion to make Chinese friends? This twice-weekly event in Shuangjing may just be your ticket to practicing your Chinese and helping others with their English. B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979-1989
What is undoubtedly one of the biggest art happenings of the week, Manchester-born director Mark Reeder comes to Beixinqiao's Aotu Studio to discuss his cult documentary Lust & Sound in West-Berlin 1979-1989. The film uses fast-paced collage of mostly unreleased film and TV to give a snapshot of the hedonistic musical explosion happening in West Berlin over the said decade and includes appearances from the likes of Nick Cave, Blixa Bargeld, David Bowie, New Order, and David Hasselhoff. There'll be a discussion between Reeder, Yang Haisong (of P.K.14 fame), and DJ Tom Mouna after the screening. Free. 7pmAotu Space

Tribal Bellydance Show
Do something a little different this Friday night and head along to La Plantation Concert Hall for a lesson in tribal belly dancing. Titled DJINNS, the show is "Inspired by the magic of fire [and] will unveil to you the supreme powers of Egyptian queens, the haunting undulations of desert snakes, and the naughty talents of enslaved spirits." Various performers come together for the show to combine ancient Egyptian and Turkish music, vintage aesthetics, contortion, live singing, and more. RMB 180/150/80 (advance). 7.30-9pm. 18th German Charity Bazaar
A favorite Christmas activity among many (as is obvious by the long queues every year just to get in), the German Charity Bazaar marks the beginning of the holiday season for many. Head along to enjoy over 40 stalls selling traditional German food, books, and handmade Christmas decorations alongside activities for the children, a raffle, and more. Entrance requires a valid passport or ID and tickets on the door are limited. RMB 100 (includes RMB 75 in redeemable vouchers to use at the bazaar), RMB 10 (children). 11am-6pm. Nicolas Party: Arches
M Woods plays host to this Swiss artist best known for his deft use of a variety of mediums; be it using paint, pastel, sculpture, or video, Party creates “carnivalesque” and haunting pieces that are built around site-specific structures and murals that exist once and once only before they are torn down and scrapped forever.
