Warm Your Heart This Winter With Art, Shopping, Food and Fashion at These Jing Color Events

After a bit of a bummer summer, the whole city is on the lookout for events to make this a winter to remember. Luckily, the Beijing commerce bureau (the same folks who gave away billions in savings vouchers earlier this year) recently announced their ninth annual Jing Color Winter Cultural Festival lineup, which will take place at multiple locations from this week through the end of the year. More than just an opportunity to find holiday gifts, the events will let visitors explore the worlds of local art, fashion, and of course, food.

Living Page Art Festival

UCCA Center for Contemporary Art will join forces with the Chinese musician Gao Xiaosong and other artists, designers, and cultural organizations to host the first Living Page Art Festival at Chaoyang Joy City. The four-day event will feature work by more than 60 artists and studios, plus nine professional seminars, five workshops, lectures, and film screenings. State: An Oil Painting Exhibition for Five Elder Prominent Chinese Oil Painting Artists

Longfusi and the China Oil Painting Society will be presenting 40 selected works from Zhan Jianju, Jin Shangyi, Quan Shanshi, Zhonghan, and Wen Lipeng, five of the most influential Chinese oil painting artists. The exhibition marks the first time that an exhibition will display the works of Chinese oil painters whose average age is more than 90 years old. Celebrate Hopson One's 3rd anniversary with Romero Britto

Hopson One shopping mall is having a huge celebration in the lead up to its 3rd anniversary, but they are celebrating with more than just a series of discounts at the shops. The mall has invited Brazilian artist Romero Britto to decorate the mall with his eye-catching, vibrant artwork, and is also holding a photo scavenger hunt. Huaxi Live Wukesong: Live HI-ICE Joyland

Last Friday, Huaxi Live: Wukesong kicked off this year’s HI-ICE Joyland event. Occupying more than 2,000 square meters with dynamic music and lighting effects, this ice rink allows Beijingers to enjoy winter fun without having to leave the city. Hutong Night Tour Festival

This December, the first Hutong Night Tour Festival will commence at Qianmen Street. Night markets, traditional apparel fashion show, light show, and other fun elements will light up the center of the capital on a chilly winter night. December, dates TBD.

In the Shine Hills neighborhood, the Hot Pot Festival is brewing. This festival will gather restaurants that offer hot-pot-like cuisines from all over the world.
