New food lovers e-bike tour with BElectric

Explore the hutongs by e-bike while getting your fill of tasty, authentic Beijing dishes with this new food tour from Beixinqiao-based tour provider BElectric. In between short e-bike journeys (wrap up warm for this part), you'll sample snacks like doornail meat buns (pictured above, truly one of Beijing's most delicious and underappreciated specialties) and zhajiangmian, before finishing at a nice cafe or heading back to starting point The Culture Yard for a warming cuppa. Contact BElectric on WeChat (BElectric) or email dominic@belectricbeijing.com for pricing and reservations.

Winter hot pot buffet at Grand Café

What better way to spend a cold winter's day than with a hot pot buffet? Head to Grand Café at the Grand Hyatt Beijing to enjoy a carefully picked selection of homemade soups, as well as an assortment of meat and imported seafood such as Mongolian lamb or handmade prawn and fish balls, as well as a variety of organic vegetables. Mix your own dipping sauce according to your taste at the condiment counter. The hot pot is part of Grand Café's usual buffet offering (i.e. there are plenty of other international treats to fill up on) – the usual price is RMB 290 but you can upgrade to the hot pot package for just RMB 50, with the option to add another RMB 50 for free-flow wine and beer.
