Find Mulled Wine, Local Makers & the Opportunity To Give Back at The Hutong's Winter Fayre, Dec 12

“Oh it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…” well, at least in our minds. But signs of the Christmas spirit are popping up all over the capital these days, and this weekend, there’s no place you’ll find more holiday cheer than at The Hutong Winter Fayre!

The Beixinqiao establishment will be opening its doors and terrace to visitors from far and wide. So head on over this Sunday, Dec 12 to sip on warm cups of mulled wine, peruse wares from local makers and merchants, and come together for holiday cheer.

Vendors at this year’s Fayre will include established names like Liuba Draws, Beijing Postcards, and VSP (aka Velveteen’s Secret Potions for Very Special People), as well as food and beverage offerings from 8 oz Espresso, Baklava Factory, Qubbe, and more.

But this year is going to be extra special. The folks at the Hutong have decided to give back to the community they’re based in with a lucky draw, with funds from ticket purchases going to the Jiudaowan Community Center.

The charitable arm of the local office that oversees the venue's surrounding neighborhood, the Center’s charity work benefits elderly residents, enabling them to live independently within the community.

The raffle will take place during the event – tickets run RMB 40 for one and RMB 100 for three – with prize winners to be announced at 1pm and 3pm. In addition to the many prizes listed above, the Hutong will also be giving away free cups of mulled wine, spice jars, and other surprises.

But the Jidaowan Community Center isn’t the only good cause you can support while attending. Dog refugee center Hui’s Sanctuary will be joining the Fayre as food vendors, selling Spanish treats while offering information on how folks can donate, volunteer, and support dogs in need.

Nothing spells holiday spirit quite like togetherness and giving to those in need, so this is one Winter Fayre you won’t want to miss!

The Hutong Winter Fayre is happening this Sunday, Dec 12 from 11am-5pm. Entry is free.
