Beijing Issues Special Consumer Coupons for Service Industry: Beijing's city government has implemented a comprehensive set of policies to stimulate the city's consumption against the backdrop of a pandemic, including issuing coupons to help the city's service industry.

These measures ­– meant to speed up the recovery of the service industry – cover a wide range of business sectors, stretching from dining to tourism. The city has announced it has issued coupons amounting to RMB 100 million to help these businesses, which can then be given to consumers to encourage spending.

Moreover, the city will also give out coupons in venues like convenience stores and hair salons to get the economy back on track.  

Pop singer Jay Chou releases newest music video: Pop singer-song writer Jay Chou has released a long expected music video titled "Greatest Works of Art" that went viral on mainstream Chinese music platforms, generating more than 6 million views on QQ Music in just two hours after it was uploaded.

The video features a scene where Chou starts playing piano in La Samaritaine, a famous landmark in Paris.

Langlang, a famous panist, also performs in the video, where the two create a duo utilizing both pop and classical music. You can watch the video on Youku via the link here.

Beijing Encourages Shopping Malls to Offer Rent Deductions to Tenants: According to Guo Wenjie, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Beijing has asked large commercial facilities to reduce rents for tenants.

Financial assistance will also be provided for shops struggling to make ends meet. For department stores, shopping centers and other enterprises with a floor area of more than 20,000 square meters, a maximum financial support of RMB 500,000 will be given in order to aid shops struggling with rent.
